OMG: People Magazine!!!

Adi and I are going crazy right now. We just ran out and bought the new issue of People Magazine.
It’s a special edition all about Real Weddings, full of beautiful, fun, crazy and inspired stories of brides and grooms from around the country.

Two of Next Exit Photography’s weddings were chosen! We are totally honored and completely psyched!!!

Congrats to Heather and Daniel and Shelly and John, for helping us to get printed in this incredible publication!!
Both Adi’s mom and my mom are veteran subscribers of People Magazine, so you can imagine the excitement in both of our family’s households!!

Our fabulous groom, Elliott Wilson, is one of the creators/executive producers of a “cool, zany, smart, hilarious new reality show,” ego trip’s The (white) Rapper Show, says Elliot’s loyal and loving wife, Danyel Smith, who is also the Editor-in-Chief of Vibe Magazine. Click here for showtimes.

Vegas, Weddingbee and more.

Hi, all! I’m writing this blog entry from my laptop in Las Vegas. Adi and I flew out yesterday morning to meet up with one of our amazing new Next Exit Photography couples-to-be and shot their engagement session! Shauna and Tim are getting married at a vineyard in Temecula in 2007, but they wanted an amazing fashionista editorial style portrait session in Vegas and we gave it to them! Almost 6 straight hours of shooting. Stay tuned for the unbelievable blog images”Â¦
This marks our third destination wedding photography job this month after Cabo San Lucas, Mexico and Oahu, Hawaii, so we’re staying an extra night here to recover before we head back to L.A. to finish up building the studio and the 2006 season. We still have a bunch of weddings and portrait sessions to shoot and blog, so keep checking in!
Just now, I checked my blog stats and discovered a new link coming in from our favorite wedding blog, Weddingbee.com, and, guess what! Next Exit Superstars, Lauren and Eddie, who got married this September at Firestone Vineyard in Santa Inez, are the featured wedding! Congrats to them for being chosen out of a bazillion entries, I’m sure. Woohoo!

Congratulations to our fabulous 2004 Next Exit Bride and now, best buddie, Becky Bloom, on her acceptance into the UCLA Business Program for the Fall of ‘06! Back in high school, then Becky Twitchell was scouted by the prestigious Jazz Tap Ensemble. For almost 10 years, she traveled with them, directed the children’s “Caravan Project” for them, and then tapped her way onto the “Los Angeles County Holiday Celebration” featured on KCET. As she put her studies aside for most of her twenties, she rigorously went after her AA at Santa Monica College over the past two years while working full time. She was just notified of her acceptance into UCLA today! Congratulations to our dear friend, Becks. You soooo deserve this! P.S. Beef stew!!

Next Exit Bride Superstar Alert: NUMB3RS

Anna Khaja, Next Exit super-bride ‘03, will be guest-starring on NUMB3RS this Friday, March 31st at 10 p.m. on CBS. She plays “Saida Khafaji,” the murder victim! Many of you probably haven’t seen the show, but Adi and I are addicted to it and have TIVOed it every single week since day one. You can also see her currently starring in the 2006 Director’s Festival one-act “I stand before you naked” at the Open Fist Theater. She has also directed one of the other one-acts in the same festival, “AMP,” written by her husband, Next Exit groom, Chris Rossi.

Almost 5 years ago, I paid one dollar to get Anna’s phone number when she posted on one of those signup wedding sites looking for a wedding planner. She landed up hiring me to plan her amazing wedding at Saddlerock Ranch in Malibu, California and then hired Adi to shoot it! We have since become best of friends.

Next Exit Baby Alert: Griffin Ready

Congratulations to Nina and Cash!! Griffin Ready was born on Saturday, March 18 at 9:02 AM, weighing 7 pounds 6 ounces. Adi photographed Nina and Cash’s wedding at the Lobster Restaurant on the Santa Monica Pier in July 2003. They have since become two of our closest friends and I am so excited to be shooting Griffin’s baby pictures in our new studio when they visit us in May! Here is one of their wedding pics and also a pic of GRD that Nina sent me of her perfectly adorable new son.
