Both Karen and Clay attended Cal Tech, so it was super meaningful for them to exchange vows on campus. The Athenaeum is one of the most beautiful and intimate wedding locations in Los Angeles. Supremely managed by Dior Chase. Love her! (You may recognize the campus from the television show, Numb3rs, which is filmed there).
We loved the simple and elegant decor that Karen designed with the help of our good friends at Fleuretica.
This wedding was so much fun and the couple were so cute together!!
I hope that Karen doesn’t mind me saying this, but I still remember the fact that they hired Next Exit over their second choice, a previous winner of the “Top Ten Wedding Photographers in the World” Award by American Photo. Who knows, maybe one day we’ll win that same award!

A little love note from Karen…
“Thanks to the entire Next Exit team again for the amazing photos. Our wedding was even more fun than we had expected and it was SO great to relive every moment through Adi’s lens.”

We loved working with Jane and Arash at their exquisite wedding in Beverly Hills. They are so perfect for one another! The ceremony, held at the Greystone Manor was perfectly designed by Bouvardia Flowers in West Los Angeles.

We just adore Irma Smith, the director of events at the Iranian American Jewish Center, who was the hotel coordinator at the Beverly Hilton Hotel when Adi and I got married eight years ago!

Wishing Jane and Arash and beautiful marriage together!

Joy (aka Mrs. Poodle) and Ken won FREE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY by us, NEXT EXIT through a contest we held last year on one of our very favorite blogsites, The Broke Ass Bride. Dana (BAB) and her “fresh hubby” were guests at the wedding (see the last photo in this post) along with some of my other favorite past and present WEDDING BEES (see photo of cute girls sitting in the hay stacks. While Adi was shooting with our amazing associate, Karen, I was able to sneak a peek on their Live Internet Feed Ustream and follow the ceremony from my living room!

I hope you don’t mind me posting a few of our amazing clients post wedding letters, but it really tells a lot about each couple and our experience with them.
“Hi, Cat! We’ve being meaning to write you ever since the wedding…
Anyway we wanted to thank you once again because Adi and Karen did such an amazing job, not only taking pictures but making everyone so comfortable and sharing all the moments with us. I don’t know what we did to get so lucky, even though the day of the wedding weather was not what we hoped for, it was the most amazing day of our lives, and you guys are the ones that will help us remember, and re-live all the special moments. We feel so thankful of you guys picking us up on the contest, because you made our day even more special (and we will have AWESOME pictures to prove it!). THANK YOU! Thank you!”

This wedding was so full of details, details, details!! Most of them were handmade by the bride or by the couple’s family and friends. The Chapel was hand built by Ken’s father!

Natalie and Greg had a deliciously colorful wedding at one of our favorite spots in Santa Monica, The Delfina. The room decor was out of this world! But, before the guests headed over, they witnessed a beautiful ceremony at the Westwood Presbyterian Church. I’ve seen The USC band at dozens of weddings, but I can’t remember seeing the UCLA cheerleaders and the mascots all joined together for a big ole surprise!!

Every now and again, I might post a TY note from the bride and groom (which Natalie so beautifully wrote us!) but in this case, I wanted to share a very touching email that the bride’s mother sent us about a week before the big day. I hope we fulfilled all of your wishes!!

“Natalie selected you and Next Exit Photography for your creative talents, kind hearts and fun and relaxed spirits which you both reflected so genuinely the day we interviewed you (not to mention your adorable daughter who made our appointment so fun too).  I know you will continue this spirit throughout the BIG day!  We all, Natalie, Greg, my husband and I, want you to genuinely feel you are true family members on this most important, fun day…so please be sure to dance and celebrate with us…OK?…We’ll all be smiling in the photos…J”

  • Emily @ Southern Weddings - Gorgeous! Love everything about this wedding, especially the bright bouquets against the black dresses!

  • Natalie - OMG… I’m in love with my own wedding all over again. The small pictures on the gallery site don’t do an ounce of justice to the pictures. Adi… you rock! Thank you so much for capturing all the important moments of our incredible day. & thank you for the sweet comment about the ceremony picture, that means a lot to me. Forgetting to put my veil down & not having my bouquet or my vows made for some unforgettable moments LOL. My cheeks are hurting now from smiling and from pure joy over our pictures. N.E.P. is wonderful!

Emily and Teddy had a great idea to put together a little something for their mother’s birthday.
(well, actually, I think it was mom’s friend Peggy from Texas who arranged it, but we’ll let mom think it was the kids).

Turns out Mom has never had a professional portrait of her munchkins. Well, Happy Birthday Mom!

These kinda shoots make rockin’ Mother’s Day gifts… book your session for April before it’s too late! Email Cat to schedule one.

Erin and Adam had a gorgeous wedding at the Sheraton Delfina in Santa Monica. It was one of those days that everybody was sure it was going to rain, but well, it didn’t, and the light was perfection!

I remember chatting with adorable mom, Barbara, when I was shooting a wedding in New York last summer, and I knew then that we were a perfect fit!

Special thanks to the Spire Family for referring us the job. Mindy (the bride’s first cousin) and my brother played Little League soccer together 25 years ago, and the family decided to spread the Next Exit love!
