When our daughter grows up, we hope that she’ll be a lot like Ibby. Polite, intelligent, sweet.Ibby is a true superstar. She rocked her Bat Mitzvah ceremony which took place at Stephen S. Wise Temple that morning. Then Ibby and her family and friends rocked out all night long at her spectacular party celebration at the Brentwood Country Club. That party is for sure going down in the books for the most rockin Bat Mitzvah in history! Hats off to the incomparable Lisa Field (and Ibby’s proud Auntie) of Catering by Field who designed and planned the sunning affair. Lisa knows how to throw the greatest of parties. Sport’s Stations, Flip Books, Tattoos, Lashes, Sushi, you name it, they had it! Everything was superb; the decor, the food, the flowers, and the DJ were all perfect. Thank you again Lisa with trusting Next Exit Photography with an event so near and dear to your heart. We love you!

Don’t know why, but I feel like a proud parent (of my husband) when one of our fabulous former brides (Gianelle) writes us a glowing recommendation based on her experience with (Adi) at her wedding. Maija and Matt loved Gianelle’s photos (they were amazing) and a match was made! M+M’s New Year’s Eve wedding at the exquisite Riviera Country Club in Brentwood, CA, was the perfect backdrop for a sunny winter wedding in Southern California. The wedding was designed entirely by the bride with the help of her incredible team of expert wedding vendors. We all worked to get the best Rivera Country Club Wedding Photography ever! We loved working with her amazing bridal party and family. The groom’s grandfather preformed the ceremony and the couple serenaded each other with an original song during the reception. One of my favorite bridal party photos (ever) was taken in the foyer of the club… What do you think? The bride and groom requested something special and we obliged. I especially like it when the bridal party are really good sports. They were up for anything. They weren’t even drunk…yet. 😉

I have often said, the most important thing about any photography shoot is time of day and quality of light. You can be in the most beautiful place in the world, but if you are shooting it at noon, you are going to encounter a host of difficulties . In contrast, if you are shooting in an ugly place, but the light is gorgeous, you can get amazing photographs. This is why I always encourage wedding clients to work with their photographers and their wedding coordinators to schedule the best time of day and light for their couple’s portrait on the wedding day. There is no trick to getting amazing Los Angeles engagement portraits because the light is always amazing in LA!
Luckily for me, the engagement shoot was photographed at the right time of day, in a gorgeous place, and with amazing people. Lea and Nolan, I can’t wait to photograph your wedding this September.
Over the many years that Next Exit has been photographing big, beautiful families we have learned a few important things. One of which is that both skill and patience are the key to grabbing those few moments where the planets align and siblings reveal their true bond of brotherhood/sisterhood.
