As much as I tried to get these engagement pictures up on the blog before Jayme and Kerri’s wedding this past Saturday, it just didn’t happen.  (yes, the same day Ellen and Portia got married)
So, even though the wedding has past (OMG, I can’t wait to blog it) here are a few of my favorites from the session. To all of my blog readers and you random people who stumble upon it, please send your gay friends our way for wedding photography if they are planning a same-sex wedding in California or around the globe. We are so game and if I must say, pretty darn good at it!

  • Dori - What a great couple! They’re so cute together, yaaayyy for the right to marry who you love!!

  • Amber - Oh, my gosh! Those pictures give me goosebumps. You can just feel their happiness.

  • Sherri Winstead - The second and sixth shot are just amazing. They are such beautiful, beautiful women! They have such connection.

You did a wonderful job on this engagement session – they had to have LOVED them.

How cute are Maria and Pete? They are getting married at the Sheraton Delfina in Santa Monica in October… (woohoo for wedding locations ten minutes away from our house~!). You may have seen this e-pic location used in several other photographer’s blogs in the last year or two, but hear this, WE SHOT THERE FIRST! 😉 Growing up, I belonged to a theater company across the street and know every nook and cranny of the perfect (yet dirty as sin) alley. Yet, we find new and amazing spots every time!

When I first saw the pictures that Adi so beautifully captured, I was blown away by how comfortable the couple looked. Shortly after, I received an email from Maria saying that they were totally nervous leading up to the shoot. Uh, NOT!

  • Lynn Hull - I LOVE the shot of them through the leaves – great job as always!

  • Emi - This session is so breezy! I love it

Lizzy and Howard has a picture perfect Santa Monica wedding at none other than the famous hotel, Shutters on the Beach. The décor was so fabulous, namely the oodles of paper products… invitations, table numbers, origami place card cranes….etc. were handmade by the couple (okay, mostly Lizzy =) ) Make-up by Yoko and Hair by Holly Jones, at The Shampoo Lounge. Rabbi Shawna Brynjegard-Bialik officiated. The Enchanted Florist rocked the floralocity.  Eddie Watkins & The Go Big Daddy Band kicked up the killer tunes for the rockin crowd.  Beautiful lighting design (a must at every wedding) by Luna Lighting. Tom at Buckley Videography, captured every fabulous moment on film. Cake Divas (one of the companies I used to refer in my wedding coordinator days) did the beautiful cake.
And finally, coordinator Terri Castillo, from Bellissimo Events, put the whole thing together with mad skills!

Congrats you two! I wish you both many happy days of love and rollerblading!

I’m trying to catch up with the blogs…honestly.
Lots of love goes out to Stefanie and Palm who had to endure a lot to get these amazing shots. You see we had a little incident with a Venice local while we were shooting those amazing yellow wall shots. It happened to be part of an apartment complex with a really fantastic landscaped front yard. Sure we were standing in the middle it. Anyone who has hired us will tell you, we always make it a point not to disrupt anybody’s gig while we’re shooting. Usually people are really cool with us (and sometimes proud) when we use their homes and gardens as backdrops… especially when they find out that the models are getting married. For some reason, this time it was different. A neighbor from a nearby building decided to be the front yard police and he took exception to us being there. All I will say is that we were very G rated and he was very very R. I’m sure that Stefanie and Palm’s wedding later this month will be a lot more ZEN. I’m so looking forward to it.
