Two actresses, one mission”¦to get a great headshot!
Monica is a working actress and singer. She is such a sweet girl and she’s getting married later in 2007 to a very lucky guy.
Katie is still in high school and will be performing in an upcoming production of “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying,” one of my favorite shows. She totally reminds me of “mini-coop.”
I loved taking advantage of our new dual-purpose portrait studio, which allows me to shoot through the barn doors with gorgeous natural light and also on the other side with soft boxes and gizmos for a controlled light scenario.
Have I mentioned how much I love our new studio!???

Antoinette contacted me in early September to book her maternity session a few weeks before she popped three months later. She was referred to us by one of the local message boards (girls, you are too good to us!) She and her adorable hubby, Edwin, arrived at casa de Next Exit and let me shoot them all over the property. Then, we finished up in the NEW STUDIO! It wasn’t finished at the time, but a background and lights and my adorable models were all I needed. I held off blogging the session until the studio was ready (which it is!) and in the meantime, was thrilled to have the opportunity to shoot their 9-day-old beautiful baby girl, Jordan Riley. Mom signed up for the “Next Exit Baby’s First Year Plan,” which includes a maternity session and three baby portraits throughout the first year!

“just wanted to drop a note and say thank you to both you and adi. we had SOOOOO much with you guys on our wedding day”¦we got so many wonderful compliments on our wedding day about our engagement pictures and our PHENOMENOL photographers! one of my dad’s friends, even asked for your card for her son’s upcoming wedding. and of course, i couldn’t stop hearing about how nice our photographer was from my dear sweet mom. she kept telling me how sweet cat was”¦ you guys are hands down, the best decision we made throughout the wedding planning process”¦like i told joyce (makeup artist), that you guys are such remarkable photographers that you could make “trash” look fantastic!! it’s all in how you present it, and you guys truly can capture the beauty in everything you photograph!
again, we are so pleased to have had the opportunity to work with you both you and adi. and we are ecstatic to see the end results. we will surely be sharing those pictures with all of our guests in our thank you cards. thanks again, and we look forward to seeing you guys again soon. we will bring more empanadas. heehee.”

Angel Swanson from *events of love & splendor* is without a question, a must have for your wedding coordination. We can’t say enough good things about her and can’t wait to work with her all year long! Joyce Luck and her team, as always, made everybody look exquisite. Videographer Sal from dotDV was a pleasure. Commerce Flowers rocks. Elegant Designs provided the beautiful linens, chargers & chivaris. Cha for Tea set up an original and delicious boba bar. It was such a hit with all of the guests! Dress by Reem Acra, need I say more.
P.S. I just love this photo that I took of Adi, the Videographer and Limo driver, standing in the rain, while I was directing bridal party pics! Nobody was holding an umbrella for me! wink

This morning, we had the honor of shooting a headshot for the Regional Account Executive and Head Trainer of Peter Thomas Roth, Mehrak Safajoo. PTR is a clinical skin care line with the very best products on the rack. Mehrak totally hooked me up with a gift bag of goodies (a girl’s dream!) because she was so thrilled with the results. Our good friend, Michael Zokai, from the Printing Depot in Westwood, referred us. Thanks, Mike!~

Shooting Emily’s Bat Mitzvah kicked off our fabulous 2007 event season. Emily is a near perfect 13-year-old. I say “near perfect” because if I said perfect, it would go to her head! She is sweet, smart, pretty and her voice”¦amazing! Her family is so wonderful and they put together a beautifully tasteful, fun afternoon for their first-born. Emily sang her heart out and with the help of our favorite Rabbi/Cantor duo, Steven Carr Reuben and Chayim Frenkel, there was not a dry eye at Kehillat Israel Temple. One of our favorite DJs, Craig Zuckerman, provided the tunes and age appropriate dance floor games!

Toya and Ron ran about 45 minutes late to their engagement session, and seeing that we had never met before, every couple that walked up the long staircase at the Getty Center was accosted, “Are you Toya and Ron?” I didn’t hold it against them for long, because they went straight into model mode and couldn’t take a bad picture! So photogenic! Toya’s friend, Antoinette, whose maternity and newborn pictures I just took, referred the couple to us. Thanks, A!
