Life is tough. We’re shooting weddings in fabulous places with the most fabulous clients! In our quest to become the world’s best destination wedding photographers, we shot Tara and Jerry’s perfect wedding in Oahu, Hawaii. Tara and Jerry hired us over a year ago when they had originally planned to get married at the Oviatt in Los Angeles where Next Exit is happily a recommended vendor on the list! Well, along the way, things changed. They cancelled the L.A. soirée and emailed me to say, we’re going to Hawaii and taking you with us! So, Adi and I, along with about 20 guests gathered on Lanikai Beach in Kailua. Tara’s words, “No gazebo, no music, nothing fancy, just us on the beach getting hitched with all our favorite people.” And some shaved ice.
Then, we headed across the island to Honolulu to Morton’s Steakhouse for one of the most amazing dinners (and chocolate soufflé oozy yummy things) we’ve ever had. I’m still dreaming about it to this day.
We just love this couple. They are so much fun and we can’t wait to have a wedding reunion at their mom’s place next year in Hawaii! hint hint
Stay tuned for the pictures from the incredible “Day After Shoot.”

  • Tara - OH MY GOD!! I LOVE these pictures. Thank you Cat and Adi!! You truly are the best destination wedding photographers ever! I can’t wait to see the “day after” pictures.

    Love you guys!
    Tara & Jerry

Yesterday was industry party day and Adi and I made it two fabulous events. First, we attended the annual Leather Craftsmen (the best album company in the world!) party at the Robert Evans Studio. Robert is one of the kindest photographers in the industry and helped Adi and I twice in our early career. First, he helped us with a celebrity wedding contract and then he helped me with a gallery report assignment I had when I was in photography school. He just recently shot Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes wedding! What a superstar.
Later that evening Adi and I attended the Cake Crumbs Holiday Party, hosted together with our favorite bridal expert, Harmony from the Bridal Bar, and Thea Lignos, the Editor-in-Chief of the phenomenal Your Wedding Day Magazine!

Adi and I with the ever adorable Jules Bianchi.

Adi with one of the nicest photographers in town, Jay Lawernce Goldmen. (He was so fabulous on America’s Next Top Model a couple of seasons ago. I’m so jealous he got to shoot for them!)

Chalk it up to the holidays, the destination weddings in Mexico and Hawaii and a big engagement session shoot in Las Vegas, plus the Thanksgiving Week and sub-contractors taking days sometimes weeks to get back to us. I even ordered the new windows today! We’re almost there!!!

This year, Next Exit Photography has been blessed with amazing clients, beautiful photographic locations and unbeatable experiences. Travel has always been a big part of our lives together, so we have been marketing ourselves as the world’s best destination wedding photographers!
Adi and I spent 4 days shooting Jean and Michael’s wedding at the One&Only Palmilla in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Every detail was planned to perfection. The wedding day was so beautiful, from the ceremony on the steps of the church on the Palmilla property to the cocktail hour in the courtyard to the exquisite dinner served over looking the sea to the after party in the main ballroom which had been draped and lit like a New York nightclub! I have to mention the midnight snack, where a whole nibbles station was brought out for all of the guests to enjoy. Yum. Jean wore an exquisite Vera Wang bridal gown and then changed into a sexy Monique Lhuillier mini for the after party.
All of the guests seemed to have the time of their lives. They danced the night away and celebrated this amazing couple!
I want to let all of our blog readers know, if you ever have the opportunity to take a few days off and spend them in paradise, look no further than the One&Only Resorts. You will be treated like royalty and live an experience like no other.

The Little Italy District of New York City celebrates the San Gennaro Festival every year and Los Angeles is now throwing its own event to raise money for several of its charitable programs. Lead by Jimmy Kimmel, the non-profit foundation promotes culture, art and philanthropy for the youth of our city. Adi and I donated a family portrait photography session to help raise money for the organization.
I spent the afternoon with the fabulous McDonough Family. Dad Neal, Preggers Mom Ruvé (a South African native, like me) and Birthday Boy Morgan are no stranger to the camera. Who could forget Dad’s blue eyes as the icy cop in “Minority Report!” (among gazillions of other amazing movies)
I kept mumbling to myself as I was snapping that this entire family belongs in a GAP ad, and then Ruvé tells me that Neal was a GAP model two years ago! It was hard not to get incredible photographs out of this crew. I hope that I’ll get to take maternity photos of Ruvé as well as the new additional to the McDonough Family next year.
