We met Jean and Michael for the first time just moments after their grand entrance to their pre-wedding Margarita Party at the One & Only Palmilla in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Having chatted long distance for several weeks prior to the four-day wedding extravaganza, Adi and I were filled with anticipation to meet this perfect couple who lives in Manhattan, New York.
J&M and their entire crew of family and friends could not have been a nicer bunch. What warmth, personality & shoe collections! Adi and I spent four days acting as their personal paparazzi, capturing exquisite moments and detail, on top of having the time of our lives.
We felt extremely honored to have been recommended as the destination wedding photographer to the couple by Emma Garcia, the property’s (and J&M’s) wedding planner. We really can’t say enough about working with Emma and the entire staff at the Palmilla. The resort is a piece of Heaven in a small corner of the Earth. We’ll tell you more about it when we post images from the actual wedding day.
Here are a few teasers from the first two day’s events, including the Welcome Margarita Party, the Pre-Wedding Couple’s Session, the Rehearsal and the Rehearsal Dinner.

Tara and Jerry are such fabulous people. I can’t tell you how much we adore them! Just before we headed to Hawaii to photograph their wedding, they stopped by for a visit to casa de Next Exit and I snapped a few pre-wedding-engagement-pictures on our street! Just a quickie to get them ready for non-stop-Hawaii-photo-madness. (you’ll see very soon, it SOOO paid off!)

It was such an honor to shoot Kristina and Jeep’s wedding. Adi and Jeep were roommates at USC and have remained good friends, so, it was amazing to participate in this beautiful day. St. Charles Catholic Church in North Hollywood was perfect in every way. We really enjoyed listening to the bagpiper as all the guests arrived. The fabulous reception was at Calamigos Equestrian in Burbank where everybody got their groove on. Videographer Walter Pawluk was such a pleasure! We love working with him and highly recommend his services. Adi did forgive the wonderful DJ, David Siminski from Tsunamic DJs, for announcing (ruining) the final score of the USC game which Adi was TIVOing at home. Beautiful florals from Shirvan Designs.

Shelley and John were referred to us by Suzanne and Michael, who got married earlier this year. We love seeing our married clients at new weddings and catching up! S&J designed an amazing wedding at the Jonathan Club in Santa Monica. The tables were all named after planets in the Star Wars Universe and R2-D2 was the wedding ring bearer. There was a very old-world feeling to the wedding, with all of the GMs in white tux jackets and bow-ties. The white fluffy furniture outside of the ballroom was a serious hit with all of the guests. Bella-Events handled all of the day-of details. The wedding band was perfect from one of our favorite companies in town at De Bois Productions. The beautiful paper goods were designed at Embrey Papers in Brentwood. Other notable vendors: Floral Art, Furniture & Décor by 20th Century Props and a fabulous cake by Hansen’s.

One more thing to add: During bridal party photos, I spotted none other than Julia Roberts hanging out on the beach with her whole family. She was very kind to us and even told Shelley how beautiful she looked! (which she did)

Hi, all! I’m writing this blog entry from my laptop in Las Vegas. Adi and I flew out yesterday morning to meet up with one of our amazing new Next Exit Photography couples-to-be and shot their engagement session! Shauna and Tim are getting married at a vineyard in Temecula in 2007, but they wanted an amazing fashionista editorial style portrait session in Vegas and we gave it to them! Almost 6 straight hours of shooting. Stay tuned for the unbelievable blog images”¦
This marks our third destination wedding photography job this month after Cabo San Lucas, Mexico and Oahu, Hawaii, so we’re staying an extra night here to recover before we head back to L.A. to finish up building the studio and the 2006 season. We still have a bunch of weddings and portrait sessions to shoot and blog, so keep checking in!
Just now, I checked my blog stats and discovered a new link coming in from our favorite wedding blog, Weddingbee.com, and, guess what! Next Exit Superstars, Lauren and Eddie, who got married this September at Firestone Vineyard in Santa Inez, are the featured wedding! Congrats to them for being chosen out of a bazillion entries, I’m sure. Woohoo!

  • LoLoDoss - WORK IT!!!

  • Bee - You guys did an amazing job on that wedding! The pictures were gorgeous.

Dariela and Derek are having a baby! They don’t know the baby’s sex yet, so we’ll just have to wait another week to find out… Here is the Maternity Session that I photographed on the beach under the Santa Monica Pier.
