Sarah and John

Sarah and John are a super cool couple. Pre-Ceremony pictures will be on the streets of Melrose and maybe back to the Grove where we shot their engagement session. Their wedding ceremony will take place at their home in West Hollywood and their reception will be at the uber-cool restaurant, The Spanish Kitchen, on La Cienega.
Adi and I had fun coaxing Sarah into giggling at her sweetie. Once she got rolling, there was no stopping her! The Grove and The Farmers Market were the perfect locations to capture their spirit. Fun and relaxed, and just meant to be. Those firemen were such great sports!
A special thanks to wedding coordinator Karri Lucas from The Go To Gals for referring us this fabulous couple.

Stacey and Ronald’s Wedding

Stacey and Ronald laugh as much as they talk and it is contagious. Their personalities shined as they allowed us to capture their happy day. The ceremony and reception venue, The Los Angeles River Center and Gardens, is one of our faves in town. There are endless “spots” to take advantage of.
E.Marie from Brides Bliss did a phenomenal job with the wedding party makeup. It’s been a blast working with her this summer several times already! The floral design by Ava’s Garden was creative and elegant. Stacey’s bouquet was perfect! This was the first time we worked with Los Angeles wedding videographer, Isabel Gonzales. She was super helpful to Adi and I. She stayed out of our shots when we needed her to and took control when she had to! We hope to have the opportunity to shoot another event by her side. And, wedding planner Rosie from Just a Girls Event was so on top of everything! I had the pleasure of shooting Rosie’s headshot for her new blog a few weeks ago and we really hit it off like old friends. It was great to see her in action.
Stacey and Ron, we know that you guys will be part of our family for years to come.

Kirsten and Kirk

Kirsten and Kirk were such a dream to work with. Falkner Winery, in Temecula, was the perfect setting for their beautiful wedding day. Kirsten has been a friend of Adi’s for a few years now, so it was an honor when she chose to hire Next Exit Photography without ever meeting another wedding photographer in town! Kirsten is a Regional Vice-President of Arbonne International. For any of you ladies out there who want a side job, Kirsten will teach you how to make gazillions of dollars by selling all natural skincare, health and beauty products from Switzerland. Adi and I both use several of the products and they rock. Feel free to contact Kirsten directly if you are interested in learning more about the company.
Mark Herrier from Fleur du Jour Florists in Santa Monica (also a good friend of NE) did such a spectacular job designing the event. The flowers were magnificent and so fresh! Mark delivers us fresh flowers every Wednesday to brighten up the Next Exit Photography studio. Aren’t we so lucky?

Frame City!

Next Exit Photography started selling custom wedding and portrait framing about two months ago, and ever since, it’s like we moved into Frame City!
Our clients are just loving them. They are simply stunning. I want a few with our own wedding photos, too! (finally”¦it’s only been four years!)
We offer several different “looks,” many of which are hand painted in Italy. Others are simple and understated. The quality is unbeatable. Of course, you can order a loose print from us and schlep all over town trying to find different products (which I know can be done) but why???
We’ll do all the work for you and the final product will hang magnificently in your home.
A wise man once told me, “Cat, tell your clients not to think of framing as part of the wedding budget, rather, their home decor budget!” I love it, and it’s so true.
Think about getting one for your honey for the holidays. They are just around the corner! Or, for our past clients checking the blog, how about your anniversary?
BTW, that is a photo of Simone checking out a few of our client’s orders. She was over yesterday choosing her wedding photos for her Leather Craftsmen Album! (love ya, S)

Christa - Can’t wait to see our beauty!!! :) July 14, 2006 – 9:58 am

Rosie - I have Sandra and Oscar’s frame sitting in my couch right now ready to be displayed Saturday at their wedding. It is beautiful!!!July 13, 2006 – 11:42 pm

Karin and Eric

Karin and Eric were a true pleasure to work for. We convinced them to do a last minute engagement session to get comfortable in front of the camera, and sure enough, they were true naturals on their wedding day! We also convinced Karin to get dressed in her honeymoon suite (just for those finishing touches) and the photos, as you will see here, blew us away. The room that you get ready in (take note, brides to be) makes such a difference for those fabulous “getting ready” photojournalistic photographs. Natural vs. artificial light, the colors and decor, the background (keep it clean)”¦these factors all play into the art of the photo.
The wedding took place at the Portofino Hotel and Yacht Club in Redondo Beach. Kerim Albanes from My Wedding Blooms did a stellar job, as always, decorating the ceremony arch and even the swimming pool with gorgeous flowers.

And we feel so fortunate to have been the couple that finally made it onto the marina of the Portofino. Those pictures are breathtaking. Can’t wait to see the rest…THANK YOU!

P.S. Eric LOVES the pic of the friends taking shots! =)July 8, 2006 – 12:11 pm

Danielle and Matt’s Wedding

You all remember Danielle and Matt from the bubbles engagement photo session? Well, their wedding photographs are so awesome, it was hard to narrow it down to these few. (well, truth be told, it’s always a challenge for us”¦he he) Danielle’s twin sister wrote us like the DAY after the wedding to see when the pics would be up. How cute. She did give one heck of a MOH speech. D&M are fun, energetic, friendly and yes, photogenic. Both lawyers. Can you believe?
Gorgeous make-up was provided by Therese Clark. The staff at the Westlake Village Inn was just a dream to work with, especially the coordinator, Jeannie Reed. Thanks for everything, Jeannie! Blossom Floral in West Los Angeles, was hired only a few days before the wedding in a pinch and decorated the chuppah beautifully. The DJ, Tim Benter from DJs to Go, rocked the house all night long.
