Some weddings that we photograph are simple and sweet and other are Martha Gone Wild.
For my own wedding (in 2002!) Adi and I went with a Hollywood Nightclub feel and we didn’t invest a lot of time in “creating.” (Don’t ask me how much we spent on our band).

Enter a couple like Amanda and David, who, with the help and love of Angel Swanson, coordinator magnifique, went for it!
From the custom printed everything, to the candles in green peas, from the cake table to the crazy cookie station, and don’t forget the “guestbook” wine bottles. Everything was planned with love.
Top it off with a gorgeously sweet couple, and it’s a perfect day.

Speaking of a perfect day, do I even need to mentioned that it rained during their photos and ceremony??? Nobody stressed and it just added to the excitement. Yes, Rain. In Los Angeles. In July!

Eva and Brinton | Malibu Wedding Photography | Rancho del Cielo

Eva and Brinton had their gorgeous wedding at one of my favorite wedding locations in Southern California. Owned by the adorable Jill Greene, Rancho del Cielo is a little hideaway retreat overlooking the big Pacific blue. I was sad not to get to see her this time, but hopefully Adi remembered to give her hugs and kisses for me. Another person I was sad to miss is the amazing and talented Amber Gustafson of Amber Events. She and her team are full of fabulousness! Okay, let’s face it, I was sad to miss the entire incredible team of vendors, but I was off shooting an equally kick-toosh wedding in New Jersey. (Yes, Karina, that means you’re next!)
Adi really had such a wonderful experience with these two, their families and friends. xoxo

Kelly and Brad hosted a beautiful wedding at the Calamigos Ranch in Malibu. I love working at this location because it is rustic and woodsy, but charming and classy at the same time. There are so many nooks for shooting incredible wedding photography and I am always game for taking advantage of the scenery for as long as my clients allot! Still waiting on the vendor list but I want to give special props to Mimi Flowers from Mimi Events who was an amazing wedding planner to work with. Thanks, Mimi!! xoxo

Elena and Jeff | Saddlerock Ranch Weddings | Malibu Wedding Photographer

Elena and Jeff were a third generation client. We shot Jean and Michael’s wedding at the One&Only Palmilla in Cabo San Lucas a few years ago and then photographed Jean’s maid of honor’s other BFF’s wedding, Zarin and Ryan, at the same location. THEN, those guys referred us to Elena and Jeff, and well, that too was a match made in heaven. The Saddlerock Ranch in Malibu is a perfect wedding location in Southern California. Beth? We love you. Vineyards and old oak trees and twinkle lights and perfect weather. Then, to top it off, there are zebras and llamas and buffalo in residence, just to name a few. Elena was so kind to offer one of the camels a snack from her bouquet. The wedding all in all was perfect. With a couple like these two, Adi and I didn’t have to work very hard. (I said we didn’t have to, that doesn’t mean we didn’t) We just jived so well with Elena and Jeff and could have kept snapping for days and weeks on end. The combo Jewish/Apache wedding ceremony was something that we had never seen and it completely blew our minds. There was not a dry eye in the house. The party was off the hook and the dance floor was crammed with friends and family all night long. xoxo

I don’t get out to Claremont very often, or…ever, but if it were any closer I imagine that I would shoot a ton of my portrait sessions out there. Its freakin’ gorgeous!
Eva and Brinton met at the Claremont Juice Company where we started on our little engagement photo safari.
Their’s is an adorable story that involves unexpressed feelings, many many months of being “friends,” and lots and lots of juice.
But hey, those unexpressed feelings must have turned into expressed ones, cause Next Exit Photography is shooting their wedding at the amazing Rancho del Cielo in Malibu this August. It’s going to be spectacular.

Malibu Beach Inn Wedding Photographer | Erin and Ham

Erin and Hamilton were a dream to work with. You see, besides being unbelievably kind and sweet, they sure know how to work the camera as they have both spent the better part of their lives in front of it (big screen and small).
Their wedding was intimate and classy and the 18 person guest list was made up of immediate family only, the minister and his wife and their good friend and fellow actriccce, Rusty, who introduced the couple.
The ceremony was right there, on the public beach in front of the newly redone Malibu Beach Inn, followed by a scrumptious dinner on the lovely terrace of the hotel.
(Adi and I got the royal dinner treatment and I have to say, it was one of the best ever vendor, but non-vendor meals, I have eaten in 8 years of shooting weddings).

Thanks you guys, for letting Adi and I spend this amazing day with you and your incredible families. Hope to see you soon in Brentwood Village!

Rancho del Cielo Malibu Wedding Photographer | Allison and Austin

I loved this wedding so much! Woke up to a super duper gloomy Los Angeles day, but the clouds parted as these two said their vows atop a mountain at the charming Rancho del Cielo in Malibu. I loved everything about this location from the getting ready room with light streaming through the windows, the stunning reception area and ceremony site overlooking the Pacific Ocean, and last but not least, the hospitable owner, Jillian Palethorpe, who was welcoming and kind. (see how Allison offered to do her dishes at the end of the night!)
I loved working with Allison and Austin and their amazing families. And, how cool that so many of the bridal party were locals…Crossroads and Harvard Westlake peeps!
